“TOY’S (Doshisha University/Kansai University)” for men and “Nagoya Keizai University” for women became the first champions! Promoting career support and regional revitalization through sports
ZIGExN is a 3×3 (three-person basketball) professional team operated by Jigen Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President and CEO: Takeshi Hirao, TSE Prime: 3679, hereinafter referred to as Jigen). UPDATERS.EXE (hereinafter referred to as Jigen Updaters) held a 3×3 event at the Ukyo Regional Gymnasium in its hometown of Kyoto City over two days, Saturday, January 31, 2026 and Sunday, February 1, 2026.
On the first day, there was an event aimed at students in western Japan.3×3 Campus Cup supported by 3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT(hereinafter referred to as 3×3 Campus Cup), and on the second day, professionals, general public, and students will compete.3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT 2025-2026 KYOTO presented by ZIGExN UPDATERS.EXE(hereinafter referred to as EXE tournament)” was held.
A total of 500 spectators and related parties gathered on both days for a weekend that conveyed the appeal of 3×3 from multiple angles in Kyoto, from career support for student athletes to improving top-level competitiveness and regional revitalization.
■[Day 1]West Japan student No. 1 deciding match “3×3 Campus Cup”
~A total of 13 teams will compete. A career seminar by current professional athletes will also be held at the same time.
This tournament, aimed at students in western Japan, was newly established with the aim of popularizing 3×3 and improving competitiveness in the western Japan area. A total of 13 teams, 10 men’s teams and 3 women’s teams, entered the competition and fiercely competed to be crowned the inaugural champion.

In the men’s category, “TOY’S (Doshisha University/Kansai University mixed team)” won, and in the women’s category, “Meikei (Nagoya University of Economics)” won.
The top male and female teams were awarded the right to participate in the “3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT Kyoto”, a professional/amic exchange tournament held at the same venue on Sunday, February 1st, and earned the right to challenge the professional team.

<“Competition” x “Career” Seminar>
Before the match, a “3×3 Workshop Career Talk Session” will be held. Tadashi Shimoda (graduated from Doshisha University) from Jigen Updaters and Yukika Hashida (graduated from Aichi Gakusen University) from Echakena Noto took to the stage to talk about their real experiences about “why I started 3×3” and “balancing work and competition (dual career).” Participating students commented that it was a good opportunity to think about their career path, and the event became a place to support career development through sports.
Twelve students from the Kansai Student Basketball Federation and All Kansai University Women’s Basketball Federation participated as operational staff in this tournament. Under the guidance of the Kyoto Prefecture Basketball Association, he worked as a referee, TO (Table Officials), and MC. We supported the smooth progress of the tournament while responding to the fast-paced gameplay unique to 3×3.
■[Day2]Professionals, general public, and students clash in “3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT KYOTO”
~Professional teams, students, and local communities come together at home in Kyoto~
The following day, February 1st, one of the largest open tournaments in Japan, “3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT KYOTO presented by ZIGExN UPDATERS.EXE,” will be held. The student team that won the previous day’s Campus Cup also participated in the competition, and competed against professional teams and adult teams.
The hosting team, Jigen Updaters, also participated in the match, and the match was heated in the heat of the home stadium. There was a series of good games that could only be expected from an exchange game that transcended the boundaries of categories.
Additionally, in between matches, we carried out a project in collaboration with our hometown of Kyoto to liven up the venue.
・Opening act: A kids cheer performance was performed by Kyoto Hannary’s “Hannarin Cheer School,” and the children’s cheerful smiles cheered on the players.
・Visitor participation event: “Vegetable Free Throw Competition” was held in cooperation with JA Kyoto City. Participants who competed in a time attack format were awarded a Kyoto vegetable basket (assorted Kyoto vegetables) to those who succeeded.
■About “EN Project”
Under the team slogan “UPDATE the YOUTH – Supporting young people’s challenges,” Jigen Updaters has started the “EN Project” with the aim of sustainable regional development and creating opportunities for challenges, valuing the relationships we have with the many people we interact with through team activities.
This tournament was held as part of this effort, and was made possible with the cooperation of partners from various companies and organizations mainly in Kyoto City. We plan to continue holding both the “3×3 Campus Cup” and “3×3.EXE TOURNAMENT” next year and beyond. We will continue to engage in sustainable activities in collaboration with various stakeholders, with young people in Kyoto playing the leading roles.
