FC Bayern Munich apparently has Inter Milan’s Yann Aurel Bisseck in their sights. The central defender could represent a long-term solution for the defense.
Munich – At FC Bayern Munich there is currently intensive discussion about possible reinforcements in the central defense. After Dayot Upamecano’s contract extension, the defense seems secured at first glance, but those responsible at Säbener Straße still see a need for action. In particular, the record champions’ high sporting goals require a broader set-up at the absolute top level. A name that comes up more and more often in this context is Yann Aurel Bisseck from Inter Milan, like Sport1 reported.
The current squad planning sees Upamecano and Jonathan Tah as the central duo of the future. But Minjae Kim, who is also part of the defensive line, always shows insecurities compared to the internal competition. If there are any changes in the summer, Bayern want to be prepared. Bisseck could play a central role here. The 25-year-old defender has fought back after an injury break at Inter Milan and established himself in Serie A.
Next new signing for FC Bayern?
Yann Aurel Bisseck is considered an exciting candidate for FC Bayern. The Cologne native has asserted himself in Italy and is considered a defender who impresses with his presence and charisma. “He’s a very good central defender who, above all, radiates something. You don’t want to play against him or necessarily get into a duel,” Toni Kroos praised the Inter professional in his podcast.
Michael Ballack also sees Bisseck as an important building block for the future. “He is at the forefront when it comes to rejuvenating this aging team,” said the former DFB captain. These opinions underline the qualities of the 25-year-old, who is in the orbit of the German national team.
Bisseck’s contract with Inter Milan runs until 2029, which could make signing him costly. Nevertheless, FC Bayern is keeping an eye on the defender, even if no concrete discussions have taken place yet. However, FCB sports director Max Eberl seems interested in considering Bisseck as a potential new signing.
A move from Bisseck to FC Bayern could also have an impact on the German national team. National coach Julian Nagelsmann, who had already nominated Bisseck for the DFB team in March 2025, could benefit from a transfer. Successful integration into Bayern’s defense could further increase Bisseck’s chances in the national team. (smr)
