Nathan De Cat is of course followed throughout Europe and is considered one of the greatest talents in his position. But not every club in Europe will be able to pay the asking price.
RSC Anderlecht let Nilson Angulo leave at the end of the winter mercato for around 17 million euros, supplemented with bonuses. This means the Ecuadorian can become one of the most expensive outgoing transfers in club history. But one player must break all records: Nathan De Cat.
$De Cat is widely expected to exceed the amount Stade Rennais paid for Jérémy Doku in 2020, namely 26 million euros – still the record for an outgoing transfer from Anderlecht. Sums between 40 and 50 million euros have already been discussed, although more than 30 million seems more realistic for the 17-year-old “ket”.
Nathan De Cat for 20 million euros?
One thing is certain: 20 million euros is not enough. That amount would have been offered by Brighton & Hove Albion in the last hours of the mercato, according to information from Sacha Tavolieri in the program Footb’All Time from Unibet.
That offer was of course rejected by Anderlecht, not only because it was too low, but also because a departure of Nathan De Cat this winter was unthinkable for the Purple & White. The departure of Nilson Angulo could still be justified, but letting De Cat go would have been a heavy blow.

Next summer it will be very difficult for Anderlecht to keep its young top talent. The Cat is currently valued at 17 million euros, but its market value could quickly explode – especially if it becomes a Red Devil in the meantime.
