The intense days of competition for the Athlos badminton Club, which participated in three national events (the Second Territorial National League in Castropol, the U-13 and U-17 Master in Alfajarín as well as the Absolute Master in Huelva)they ended with a very good grade.


The Athlos B and C teams have placed themselves in the top-5 of the Second National League. In Astures lands, Athlos B achieved full victories after beating CB Gijón (5-0), Olimpia Torrelavega (4-1), CB Oeste (4-1) and Astures (5-0). With these results, the team is third, while Athlos C is fifth with two wins and two losses. They beat Olimpia Torrelavega (3-2) and Coruña Oleiros (4-1), losing to CB Oviedo B (2-3) and Astures Anchón (0-5). At an individual level, Samuel Varela, Laura Fernández and Diego Babarro are in the top-10. The next day will be April 11.

Club Athlos

Sara Galicia, Ana Nóvoa and Antonio Iglesias traveled to Huelva, who competed in the Top Absolute Master. Sensational results for Antonio Iglesias, who won the silver medal in the men’s individual team. Ana Nóvoa, bronze medalist in the women’s individual team, also shone.

The quarry

The other national event for Athlos had its youth players as protagonists. The Zaragoza town of Alfajarín hosted the N4 Master in the under-13 and under-17 categories. Coach Sara Ezquerro traveled in the youth group with Sabela LópezLeo Álvarez, Daniel Fernández and Gabriel Sánchez and the U-17s Daniel Álvarez, David Casas and Adrián Seijo.
