YONEX Crosswind 70: DBV Approved Synthetic Shuttlecock

The German Badminton Association (DBV) will allow the synthetic shuttlecock Yonex Crosswind 70 for play in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga as well as at all DBV events in the current 2025/2026 season from January 1, 2026.

The decision is based on official test results that were developed together with competitive sports and which enable sports approval.

With this decision, the DBV is expanding the selection of approved match balls, thereby creating an additional option for competitions and tournaments. The aim is to continue to offer clubs and organizers flexible and economically viable solutions in the future, without losing sight of the sporting requirements.

The approval of the YONEX Crosswind 70 does not mean any obligation to use this ball. Rather, it gives those responsible on site the opportunity to choose between different approved match balls depending on the general conditions and needs. In this way, the DBV would like to make a contribution to keeping badminton easy to implement organizationally and financially in the long term.

The DBV will closely monitor the experiences with the synthetic match ball in national games and evaluate further developments accordingly.

A current list of all approved game balls can be found here.
