Takashi Toritani Event – Miyake-cho, Nara | Another Works

In 2025, Another Works Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Naotomo Obayashi), which operates the multi-job matching platform “multi-job cloud”, held a lecture event titled “Takashi Toritani’s thoughts on sports and a happy life” in Miyake-cho, Isogi-gun, Nara Prefecture, inviting former professional baseball player Takashi Toritani. This event was held as part of efforts to revitalize the region and promote wellbeing based on a public-private partnership agreement concluded between Miyake Town and Another Works.

In Japanese society, the elderly, aged 65 and over, currently account for 29.1%* of the total population, and multilayered issues have surfaced, including population decline and aging, a decline in the workforce, and widening health disparities, especially in rural areas. With limited administrative resources, how to support the mental and physical health and well-being (a state of physical, mental, and social fulfillment) of all generations has become an important theme that will determine the future of the region.

Furthermore, in recent years, there has been a reduction in extracurricular activities at schools, fewer opportunities for exercise, and a weakening of ties within the local community, and there is a need to create an environment in which each resident can “live a healthy life in their own way.” Among these, sports are attracting attention as an effective approach to addressing these social issues, and are expected to have multifaceted effects, such as promoting physical health, as well as intergenerational interactions, a sense of community unity, and fostering self-esteem.

Therefore, Miyake Town and Another works held a lecture event with the theme of sports and wellbeing based on the public-private partnership agreement they have entered into since 2020. By welcoming Mr. Takashi Toritani, who has been active in the professional baseball world for many years and has given courage to many people, as a guest, we aimed to raise awareness of health and provide an opportunity for each town resident to reconsider their own “happy lives”.
