Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. President of the Senate,
On January 22, the Evaluation Group of Personalized Complementary Therapies (Getcop) and the National Chamber of Health Practitioners (CNPS), with the support of University College of Integrative and Complementary Medicine (Cumic), three pressure groups working in favor of unconventional care, are organizing in the Senate, through Senator Laurence Muller-Bronn, a day entitled “Why and how to secure the introduction of health practices?”.
Let us make no mistake, for these associations it is about ensuring the promotion and legitimization of pseudo-medicines before the Senate, and more broadly among our fellow citizens.
These practices, which have not proven their effectiveness, present risks of therapeutic abuses (loss of chance of cure, undesirable side effects, social cost) and sectarian abuses.
These pressure groups thus expose a singular vision of health, which goes against evidence-based medicine, and which can influence public decision-making.
Indeed, among the speakers announced, we find known promoters of unconventional, often esoteric practices, some of whom are linked to groups reported in parliamentary reports or of the Interministerial Vigilance Mission to combat sectarian aberrations (see below).
At a time when the press and institutions are constantly pointing out these pressure groups, and the Ministry of Health has commissioned a study mission on the “fight against obscurantism and disinformation in health”, whose results have just been presented, it seems totally inconsistent that the national representation could endorse such an event.
Also, we ask Mr. Gérard Larcher, President of the Senate, all senators, and representatives of the State, that this event calling into question the foundations of science and rationality in medicine be purely and simply canceled, in accordance with Law No. 2024-420 of May 10, 2024 aimed at strengthening the mechanisms for the fight against sectarian abuses and support for victims.
Some examples of people announced at the conference on January 22:
Valerie Broniformer nurse, now CNPS administrator, coach and mentor in personal development. It offers treatments based on a biophotonic process, never before validated, which would allow a rapid “scan” of the body by a simple recording with the fingers to obtain data in order to optimize one’s state of health. She also practices art therapy, psycho-energetics, Emotional Freedom Technique, Tong ren, cardiac coherence, matrix reimprinting, all approaches highlighted by Miviludes.
Henri Tsiangretired researcher from the Pasteur Institute, he now teaches Qi Gong and offers a set of therapeutic practices derived from Chinese medicine, none of which is recognized by the Public Health Code: Taoist energy arts, meditation, Dao Yin, therapeutic Qi gong, Tui Na massage, etc.
Dr Bernard Payrau, president of Getcop and administrator of the CNPS, claims his attachment to Cerap, the center for the study of fasciatherapy. Fasciatherapy was particularly highlighted by the press, as well as in the two volumes of senatorial report No. 480 made on behalf of the Commission of Inquiry into the influence of sectarian movements in the field of health, under the direction of the president, Mr. Senator Alain Milon, and the rapporteur, Mr. Senator Jacques Mézard, handed over to the presidency of the Senate on April 3, 2013.
Reza Moghaddassiassociate professor of philosophy, regularly speaks at Getcop conferences, a structure promoting the concept of “integrative medicine”. He also works for the entry of “full presence meditation” into schools; a technique invented and registered as a trademark by Danis Bois, the designer of fasciatherapy. R. Moghaddassi also contributes to meetings organized by the “Interdisciplinary University of Paris” such as the “International Conference on Health, Meditation and Consciousness, Healing of the Body, Healing of the Soul” or the “Colloquium: Consciousness and the Invisible”.
Professor Fabrice Bernavice-president of training at Cumic, recommends the integration of non-conventional medicines into care pathways, and the training of future doctors, also calling into question the skills of Miviludes. He is a member of a movement led by Miviludes, La Libre Université du Samadeva.
Professor Laurence Verneuilvice-president of research at Cumic, is also part of the Scientific Committee of the Health United movement, and acts as an expert at the IFPPC, two associated structures which, under the guise of “integrative medicine”, promote a set of pseudo-therapies that have not been scientifically validated. United Health and IFPPC regularly work with the Men-Tsee-Khang Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute, which places the astrological analysis of diseases, including cancer and leukemia, at the center of its practice.
