Youth five-a-side football, indoor archery, baseball, running: these are the protagonist disciplines of a new intense weekend of sport in Riccione, scheduled Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th Januaryconfirming the city’s role as a point of reference for sport at a national level even in the winter season.
After the great success of Befana tournamentswhich from 4 to 6 January involved over 3,500 athletes, 120 football teams and 70 basketball teams from all over Italy at the Nicoletti Sports Center and in the city gyms, Riccione is preparing to welcome a new rich calendar of sporting events.
Saturday January 10thil Playhall “Massimo Pironi” will host “Champions on Tour in Riccione”third edition of the national tournament youth five-a-side football for charitydedicated to the categories Beginners, Chicks, Little friends and First kicks. All participating teams will access the 16th National Final of “Campioni in Tour”, scheduled for 28 June 2026 at the Nicoletti stadium in Riccione.
During the same weekend, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th January, the Annika Brandi gym will be the scene of “13th City of Riccione Trophy” for indoor archeryan interregional competition included in the national calendar Fitarco and organized byAsd Arco Club Riccione. They are expected about 160 archersfrom the youngest to senior athletes. Some of the participating teams will take part in the Italian Indoor Championship scheduled in Rome from 26 February to 1 March.
Sunday January 11ththe Playhall will also host the first edition of “Winter League in baseball” of the province of Rimini, with the participation of around 100 young athletes coming from various local companies.
Always on Sunday January 11th will take place Race Mini Running Calendara non-competitive 8 kilometer race organized by Asd Riccione Podismo. The event will be held in the Spontricciolo area, starting from via Rebola at 9.30 am and arriving in the same street. Registrations will be possible directly on site.
To complete a very important winter sports calendar, from January 15th to February 22ndRiccione will host the Absolute Italian Sports Dance Championshipsa national event that will bring thousands of athletes and companions to the city.
