The Badminton Oviedo athletes competed this weekend in the Under 13 and Under 17 Master held in Nigrán. The most outstanding performances were in Under 17, where Mark Kravchyshyn and Deva García were mixed champions. In addition, Analía Villabona and Daniela Márques achieved third position in women’s doubles, and Alma Álvarez was third in singles. The team was accompanied by coaches César González, Alberto Zapico and Kristina Sotomayor. In the Under 17 mixed doubles, Mark Kravchyshyn and Deva García took first place after beating Iker Bartolomé and Flavia Bocica in the final. In the semifinals, the Badminton Oviedo couple had defeated Xoán Balboa and Marta Álvarez in three sets. In individual Under 17, Alma Álvarez competed in group E, where she surpassed the group stage after beating Alicia Brao and Flavia Bocica. Already in the main draw, she beat Aitana Tejeiro in the quarterfinals in three sets and lost in the semifinals to Xulia Otero, finishing the competition in third position. Deva García also surpassed the group stage, with victories against Lucía Chasco and Helena Almeida, and Daniela Márques, after beating Alexia Pérez and Silvia Vargas; Both advanced to the quarterfinals. Claudia Fernández, placed in group B, did not make it through the group stage. In men’s singles, Mark Kravchyshyn led group C after beating Yago Salomón and Gabriel Isorna, reaching the quarterfinals, where he lost to Ianis Aaron Elbase. Carlos Labrador, who competed in group I, won against Diego Da Rocha, but lost to Ianis Aaron Elbase, leaving him with no options to advance from the group. For his part, Saúl Bernabeu lost in his matches against Guillermo González and Guillermo Valdés. In the Under 17 women’s doubles, Analía Villabona and Daniela Márques reached third position after advancing to the semifinals. In the group stage, within group D, they beat Nadia Alonso and Laura Santamarina, as well as Ester Iniesta and Claudia Santibáñez, achieving a place in the main draw, where they lost to Alicia Brao and Alba Pérez. The couple formed by Alma Álvarez and Claudia Fernández added a victory against Lucía Chasco and Aitana García, although they lost to Maia Freire and Xulia Otero. Although they did not manage to overcome the group stage individually, they continue to advance in their training and preparation process for the competition.
