Christopher Nkunku will not be able to continue after his first double in Serie A, scored last weekend against Hellas Verona (3-0). The French international will be absent for AC Milan’s trip to Cagliari on Friday, during the 18th day of the championship. At a press conference, Massimiliano Allegri indicated that the 28-year-old striker was suffering from an ankle problem, without specifying the seriousness or duration of his unavailability: “Nkunku will be unavailable; his ankle injury persists. Leao is fully recovered, but he hasn’t played for a month, and we’ll see how long he can stay on the field.”.
Prone to injuries over the past two seasons, Nkunku had already been hampered by a foot problem in October. His absence complicates Milan’s offensive options, with Rafael Leao, back tomorrow, in the recovery phase after a month off. Christian Pulisic, the club’s top scorer, trained separately this week. Recruited this Thursday from West Ham, Niclas Füllkrug will start on the bench.
