Mizuno’s artificial turf for baseball, “MS CRAFT BASEBALL TURF,” will be used at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka, the home base of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, starting in the 2026 season. This is the first time that Mizuno artificial turf has been installed at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka.
“MS CRAFT BASEBALL TURF” was first adopted at a professional baseball stadium in 2016. Artificial turf improves players’ playing performance through improved durability, and has excellent resilience to the increasingly diverse use of dome stadiums.Currently, it has been introduced at professional baseball stadiums across Japan, and has the No. 1 market share*1.

We also replaced the lining of Tama Home Stadium Chikugo, home of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks 2nd team, with MS CRAFT BASEBALL TURF. At Tamahome Stadium Chikugo, an outdoor stadium, the surface layer will be filled with Field Chip Greentea, which is expected to reduce the rise in ground surface temperature by approximately 7 degrees Celsius compared to regular fillers*2 in the summer, reducing the burden on players’ bodies.

Features of “MS CRAFT BASEBALL TURF”
“MS CRAFT BASEBALL TURF” has eight features compared to our straight-haired artificial turf by applying a special crimping process to make the pile (grass blades) into a shape similar to natural grass blades. It reduces the burden on players during play and provides stable ground conditions throughout the season.
Environmentally friendly artificial turf “MS CRAFT” series
Mizuno sells the “MS CRAFT” series, which is made of artificial turf pile with a special crimping process (Mizuno Spiral Technology). In recent years, with the increase in sales and use of artificial turf, it has become important to prevent microplastics derived from artificial turf from flowing into the ocean, and local governments and companies have begun taking environmental measures. The special crimping process reduces pile tearing and prevents the scattering and outflow of filler rubber chips, contributing to the control of microplastic outflow.
