“We were shocked to hear the news that Miki Dudás had passed away,” the sports leader told Index. “What I remember most about his athletic career is how he made his mark at the 2012 London Olympics, really bursting into the ranks of the best. With fantastic competition, he achieved an excellent result and came sixth in the two hundred meters. This is an outstanding result in the men’s singles.”
Regarding the further stages of Miklós Dudás’ sports career Gábor Schmidt he didn’t want to go into other details, he only noted that it “didn’t turn out the way” the players in the sports sector expected and hoped from him, because considering the start and the potential it contained, he was definitely destined for more.
Zoltán Kammererthree-time Olympic and three-time world champion kayaker, the mayor of Göd recalled to our newspaper: in the first half of the decade of 2010, he was a member of the national team together with Miklós Dudás, and although he did not develop a close friendship with his much younger partner, they were good despite the fact that they did not train and prepare in the same team during the year, and did not go to the competitions in the same team boat.
“Miki’s career was much more than what he finally achieved, and he still had good results. As a junior, and later as an adult, he showed that he could not only excel at sprint distance. I am very sorry that this happened to him.”
34-year-old Miklós Dudás has recently been a frequent actor in TV entertainment programs. We reported on his death on Monday afternoon, and our information – that Miklós Dudás died at his home – was later confirmed by the Budapest Police Headquarters upon our inquiry.
A Bors meanwhile, he reported: the police was notified by a close relative, after which the athlete’s second-floor apartment in the 18th district was opened by a locksmith. As they add, that’s when they found the body of Dudás, who presumably had already died earlier.
