Archers de Guipavas Open Season with Home Tournament

The Archers of Guipavas opened their 2026 season with a strong performance at their home facility, hosting 172 competitors during a two-day tournament held on October 17 and 18, 2026.

Strong Home Turnout in Guipavas

The event drew a field of 172 archers, all competing on an 18-meter target range. Participants utilized both classic and compound bows throughout the weekend. According to club president Patrice Le Com, the tournament serves as a critical qualification stage, allowing athletes to accumulate points necessary for progression through departmental, regional, and national finals.

Podium Success for Local Archers

The host club saw nine of its members—four children and five adults—compete in the tournament, with several securing top finishes. In the youth categories, Evangéline Amet took first place in the under-15 classic bow division. Lucile Langlois earned a second-place finish in the compound bow category for the under-18 and under-21 age groups.

The adult compound bow division resulted in a podium sweep for the club. Benoît Mazé placed first, followed by Tanguy Mazé in second and Edwige Mercier in third. These combined results propelled the Guipavas team to a first-place finish in the overall compound bow club rankings.
