The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the stories of the NBA in recent weeks. Jordi Fernández has pushed them to a 7-4 record in December with the best defense in the league in that stretch and after going 3-16 in their first 19 games. Michael Porter Jr. has been, directly, one of the stories of the season since it started.
Right now the forward is among the 20 highest scorers of the course, close to 26 points and with the 4th best shooting efficiency of the top 20. Only behind Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. MPJ left Denver, a team that is not missing him at the moment, as a high-ceiling scorer but too much inconsistency. Now, as the first option, he is leaving behind one of his most efficient seasons and the one with the highest volume without a doubt.
This has caused several teams to ask about his availability in the Nets whose objective should be to secure positions at the top of the lottery in a draft that is loaded. Brooklyn has already selected four players in the first round and hopes to continue growing through this route. No matter how hard Jordi tries, they should be a selling team in this last month of the open market.
According to Jake Fischer in The Stein Lineboth the Pistons and Warriors have been interested in Porter Jr. The forward has this and another year remaining on his contract at an average of $39 million on average. Which would coincide with the records of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in Golden State.
