Mavericks Irving Return: Kidd Addresses Timing Concerns

There have been growing rumors recently regarding the plans of the Dallas Mavericks per Kyrie Irvingwho has spent much of the last year off the field, recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

Plans should become clearer after the breakAll-Star Weekend. For now, the team just wants him to continue progressing in his rehabilitation.

But the possibility that Kyrie Irving returns to the field this season does not depend on the team’s success, according to what the coach said Thursday Jason Kidd.

“There’s nothing new” the coach said. “I know there is a lot of speculation going on. He is working very hard in his rehabilitation. I spent some time with him yesterday. He is in good spirits. He feels great. At some point we will be given a timetable. At the moment there is none. But yesterday, spending time with him, I saw that he is working very hard. It is important for him to be mentally and physically able to play at the highest level. Nothing else.”

Second coach Kidd, Irving he is eager to return to the field at least before next season. Because he believes it is useful to try to develop an understanding with Cooper Flagg.

“He wants to play” the coach said. “But, when you come back from an ACL injury, it’s all about time. Mentally and physically, you want to be 100%. He’s doing both at a high level. At some point, we’ll have a firm plan.”
