The Liga MX Femenil continues to consolidate itself as one of the most attractive destinations on the continent and, in that context, Toluca confirmed the incorporation of Colombian forward Manuela Paví, who arrives from West Ham United in England to face the 2026 tournament. The arrival of the coffee attacker represents a new step in the internationalization of the scarlet project and reinforces a clear commitment to footballers with career and experience in highly demanding scenarios.
The growth of Colombian women’s soccer has been sustained in recent years and is reflected both in the performance of the Colombian National Team in World Cups and Copa América and in the export of players to competitive leagues. Cases like that of Linda Caicedo at Real Madrid paved the way, and Manuela Paví remains on that list of soccer players who continue to project coffee talent abroad, in a Mexican league that is constantly growing internationally.
A career marked by international leap
Manuela Paví, trained at Deportivo Cali, built a career that led her to make the international leap after her time at Atlético Mineiro in Brazil. In August 2024 she arrived at West Ham United, a club in the Barclays Women’s Super League, one of the most demanding leagues in world women’s football. During the 17 months she remained in England, the Colombian attacker played 34 official matches in all competitions and scored four goals, helping the London team finish in ninth position last season.
His time with the “Hammers” left glimpses of his style of play, characterized by speed, imbalance in one-on-one and the ability to finish from medium and long distance. However, his cycle in Europe came to an end in 2026, opening the door to a new experience closer to his country of origin.
Toluca bets heavily on the Liga MX Femenil
Toluca made the signing official through its social networks with a brief but forceful message: “From West Ham to Toluca. Welcome, Manuela Paví!” In this way, the Diablas Rojas add a key piece to their offense, in a tournament in which the club seeks to take a leap in quality and fight for the top positions, after not having yet won the title since the creation of the Liga MX Femenil in 2017.
The arrival of Paví is not an isolated movement. In recent years, Toluca built a squad with a clear international projection, incorporating high-profile soccer players such as the French Eugenie Le Sommer, Amandine Henry and Faustine Robert, all with extensive experience in European soccer. This context raises the internal demand and poses an important challenge for the Colombian, who will have to compete for minutes with Le Sommer, historic forward of the French team and reference for Olympique de Lyon.
A growing league and Colombian presence
The Liga MX Femenil has positioned itself as one of the most important competitions in Latin America, not only due to its structure and sporting level, but also due to its ability to attract international figures. Friendly matches against clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, played on Mexican soil, and the arrival of world-renowned soccer players, consolidated the prestige of the tournament.
In this framework, the Colombian presence has also been strengthened. In addition to Manuela Paví, players such as Liced Serna, Wendy Bonilla, Yirleidis Quejada, Yuraina López, Ilana Izquierdo, Farlyn Caicedo, Lady Andrade and Marcela Restrepo are currently active in the league, to which is added the antecedent of Catalina Usme in Pachuca. In this transfer market, Paví becomes the only Colombian soccer player to arrive in the Liga MX Femenil, reinforcing that bond between both countries.
A new challenge for Manuela Paví
At 25 years old, Manuela Paví begins a key stage in her professional career. His arrival in Toluca represents the possibility of consolidating himself as an offensive reference in a competitive league, with a squad full of local and international talent. For the Diablas Rojas, their incorporation means adding speed, imbalance and goals, necessary elements to compete with the powers of Mexican women’s soccer such as Tigres, Rayadas, América and Chivas.
The scarlet project continues to grow and send clear signals of ambition. In a Liga MX Femenil that continues to evolve, Toluca is betting on footballers with international experience to raise their level and get closer to a goal that still eludes them: fighting for the first title in their history. For Manuela Paví, the challenge is set and the stage is set to write a new chapter in her career.
