Kluivert Knee Injury: Surgery & Recovery Timeline

Justin Kluivert has to go under the knife. His club Bournemouth reports that the Dutch international is awaiting surgery on his left knee.

It is unknown how long it will take before Kluivert is match fit again. The attacking midfielder hopes to participate in the World Cup with the Dutch national team in the summer, possibly as a starting player.

Under national coach Ronald Koeman, Kluivert has been given a more important role at the Dutch team. He is regularly in the starting line-up in midfield, where Koeman chooses him over Tijjani Reijnders or Xavi Simons. In March, the Dutch team will play practice matches with Norway and Ecuador.

Kluivert had a very good period at Bournemouth, especially last season. He previously played for Ajax, AS Roma, OGC Nice, RB Leipzig and Valencia.
