French Archery Federation Launches LA 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Prep

The French archery federation has launched its formal preparation cycle for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, introducing a restructured national coaching staff and a freshly selected athlete pool, according to the FFTA.

Federation Outlines Four Priority Pillars for the New Olympiad

To turn international ambitions into podium results, the national technical direction has identified four priority levers for athlete development. The federation’s plan focuses on technical competencies, physical mastery, mental preparation, and training periodization. The framework aims to ensure athletes progress consistently through the four-year cycle and arrive at major competitions in peak condition, the FFTA reported.

Coaching Staff Expands With Returning Olympians and International Expertise

The coaching structure has evolved to support the updated performance model. In compound archery, Aurore Trayan—who competed at the 2004 Athens Olympics and previously coached the women’s classic archery team—joins the staff alongside Sébastien Brasseur, backed by dedicated mental preparation support. At INSEP, the national coaching staff has been confirmed for the new olympiad, with South Korean head coach Mr. Oh continuing to lead the French squad after taking the role in 2022. Thomas Naglieri joins the classic archery collective as an additional coach to provide intensified daily tracking, while mental training programs established in recent years remain in place, according to the federation.

Para-Archery Groups Schedule Monthly Training Camps

Preparation is also ramping up in the para-archery division under national coaches Vincent Hybois and Amandine Bouillot. The setup features monthly training camps for both targeted and development groups. The French squads enter the new training block following an upward trend in international results during the 2026 season, providing an encouraging baseline for the demands of the Paralympic events in Los Angeles, the FFTA stated.

A Diverse Roster Shapes the New Olympic Collective

Well-known team members including Baptiste Addis, Jean-Charles Valladont, Amélie Cordeau, Victoria Sebastien, and Caroline Lopez are joined by newcomers such as Mila Fremery-Delestan, who moves up to the senior ranks, and Lai-Tsan Randriantsara, alongside male squad members Romain Viale, Florian Bossard, and Maël Lamouret.

Targeted Qualification Events Set for 2027

Securing Olympic quotas remains the immediate priority for the next two years of competition. The squad’s competitive calendar features targeted training camps and international tournaments designed to test technical adjustments under match conditions.
