Two French Archery Titles Won by Chelles Competitor Alban Gallais Dutriez

Alban Gallais Dutriez Claims Two French Archery Titles in 2026

Archer Alban Gallais Dutriez secured two French championship titles in the Senior 2 compound bow category during the 2026 season, according to regional sports reporting published on October 24, 2026 at 9:58 a.m. The 45-year-old athlete, who has lived in Chelles for over twenty years, added the national crowns to a competitive career spanning more than three decades.

The first title came in July at the outdoor national distance target archery championship (TAE DN). The open-air competition requires archers to shoot 72 arrows while managing variable environmental conditions such as wind and sunlight. “The compound bow requires stability, a perfect mastery of the gesture and the quality of the release are essential to achieve the best scores,” Gallais Dutriez told local reporters while handling his 2-kilogram, 100-centimeter competition bow.

The Beursault Victory in October

On October 4, Gallais Dutriez earned his second national title of the year by winning the French Beursault championship. The traditional discipline takes place within a specialized ground known as a game of arch, featuring two targets positioned 50 meters apart where competitors shoot alternate single arrows in each direction.

Alongside the national titles, Gallais Dutriez recorded the top performance in Île-de-France for the Beursault discipline, scoring 40 honors, 38 garlands, and 137 points. His training schedule involves sessions several times a week supplemented by weekend competitions, following an introduction to the sport sparked by a childhood arm injury sustained while playing football.

International Competition History

Gallais Dutriez previously competed at a World Cup event in Las Vegas roughly a decade ago and has upcoming competition scheduled in the Netherlands. The local archery range in Chelles, named after Paris 2024 Olympic champion Lisa Barbelin, now hosts a two-time national champion as part of its club roster.
