Since the initial kick, Juventus immediately took control of the match by continuously attacking Cagliari’s defense area. The heavy rain that poured down on the stadium did not reduce the tempo of the game for both teams.
The first threat appeared in the 14th minute when Fabio Miretti fell in the penalty box after coming into contact with Mazzitelli. The referee gave a penalty, but the decision was overturned after a VAR review.
Kenan Yildiz received a yellow card in the 31st minute for diving in the penalty box. This incident was one of the moments that stole attention in the first half.
Juventus continued to dominate with high ball possession, including taking six corner kicks. Even so, it was difficult to create real opportunities because of the density of Cagliari’s very disciplined defensive formation.
Juventus’ best chance in the first half came from Miretti in the 26th minute, but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Elia Caprile. Meanwhile, Cagliari hardly posed any threat at all to the opponent’s goal.
Until the first half of extra time ended, the position was still 0-0. Cagliari have not recorded a single shot attempt, while Juventus have not been able to capitalize on their dominance.

Second Half
The second half started without any substitutions from either side. Juventus still controls the course of the match, while Cagliari prefers a strategy of waiting and relying on quick counterattacks.
Cagliari’s first threat came in the 51st minute through Sebastiano Esposito who fired a shot from a tight angle. Mattia Perin was still alert and managed to ward off the ball so it only resulted in a corner kick.
After entering the 60th minute, Juventus’ pressure increased in the home defense area. Kenan Yildiz almost opened the scoring in the 63rd minute, but his curling shot went slightly over the crossbar.
The crucial moment came in the 65th minute when Gianluca Gaetano executed a horizontal free kick from the right side of the field. The ball was perfectly met by Luca Mazzitelli with a volley that went straight into the bottom corner of the goal.
Juventus responded to the goal by making several substitutions and increasing the aggressiveness of their attacks. Juventus’ attack almost paid off in the 85th minute when Yildiz’s deflected shot from Yerry Mina hit the goalpost.
Towards the end of the match, Juventus continued to launch attacks through crosses and set-piece situations. However, Caprile appeared calm until the final whistle sounded, ensuring a 1-0 win for Cagliari.
