Gami and Ayodele lost their lives late last year when the SUV carrying Joshua and another passenger rammed into a parked truck on the highway near Lagos. Joshua suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Last Sunday, Joshua attended the funeral ceremony of both coaches in London. On Thursday, the boxer took to social media to thank them for their sympathy and support: “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown them. Their passing is very hard for me, but I know it is even harder for their parents,” Joshua wrote.
About an hour before the tragic accident, Joshua had posted a video on his Instagram account showing him playing table tennis with long-time friend and personal trainer Ayodele. On Sunday, the boxer also released two photos, one of which shows him with his mother and family members of the deceased, including the mothers of Gami and Ayodele.
