LIESHOUT – Hans van den Einden has been appointed ‘Volunteer of the Year’ by the board of Badminton Club Lieshout. Hans is not actually a badminton player, but he is very fond of the club. As a retired member, he regularly helps with all kinds of jobs that the association takes on. In addition, he also sold the most raffle tickets at the Big Club Campaign and therefore also helped the association financially. In short, a silent force as a volunteer who deserves the appointment.
All volunteers are indispensable for an association like Badminton Club Lieshout. Regardless of the amount of work they do, they are all important to the functioning of the association. The board – which also consists of these volunteers – is very happy with everyone who does something for the association. After all, everyone’s help and efforts are important. Because of their great importance, the board would like to put all these volunteers in the spotlight. The board personally visits all volunteers and thanks them very much for their efforts and supports this with a small gift.
This year too, there was the difficult task of hoisting one of the volunteers on the shield a little more than the rest. And that’s where Hans van den Einden’s name came up. Hans is a non-badminton member, who sympathizes with the fortunes of the association from the side. In that capacity, Hans is someone who is always ready to tackle anything. Last year he organized the season ending together with the Janssen family. He also took care of staffing the cloakroom during Carnival and made the New Year’s drinks extra fun this year with freshly baked cake.
Hans has recently made a great effort to give the association extra support. As a top seller, he sold the most raffle tickets for the Big Club Promotion, resulting in a significant financial contribution for the association. A great achievement. All in all, Hans is a member who operates in the shadows and supports the association with advice and assistance. A real volunteer, who, as far as the board is concerned, can also be put in the spotlight. For that reason, it was unanimously decided to award Hans the honorary title this time.
