The tennis stadium in Halle/Westphalia is once again getting a new name. The multifunctional hall, most recently known as the OWL Arena, which is used not only for tennis but also for other sporting events, concerts and business events, is now called the Heristo Arena.
The namesake is a company from the food and pet food industry based in Bad Rothenfelde, Lower Saxony, which will not only take over the naming rights to the arena but also to the neighboring event center in the long term.
At the beginning of 2020, the arena in East Wesrphalia was renamed from the Gerry Weber Stadium to the OWL Arena as part of a new sponsorship concept. For decades the hall has been the venue for one of the largest and most successful ATP tennis tournaments in Germany. This year the grass tournament will take place on June 13, 2026.
