The “Masters Ulbroka”/LU and “Ķekava/RB&B” teams won in the Latvian floorball league tournament, while the “SĀC” club of Saulkrasti, Ādažu and Carnikava experienced two losses. Pieriga floorball teams had more successes than failures in other tournaments.
On Sunday, the floorball players of Ulbroka laid the foundation for a successful outcome against the floorball club “Valmiera” already in the first period (4:0) and strengthened it with four accurate shots in the first half of the third period – 11:7. Roberts Trofimenko and Rolands Kovalevskis scored three goals each, Valters Lapiņas also scored three points (2+1).
The floorball players of “Ķekava/RB&B” celebrated their second victory in three days at home, beating “Lielvārde/Unihoc” 8:1. Goalkeeper Kirill Namlinskis saved 29 shots and capitulated the only time 103 seconds before the end of the match. Karl Degin 1+2, Andy Umbert and Patrik Zvejnieks 1+1 each.
On the other hand, floorball club “SĀC” had a completely unsuccessful weekend – two losses in two days. On Saturday, in the first two-thirds of the away game against the FK “Irlava”/”ISAM” team, the visitors could not score any goals (0:6) and lost 3:7 (Mika and Nik Naglini 1+1 each). On Sunday, at their home in Ādaži, the home team couldn’t stop the winning streak of the leaders Kocēni “Rubenes” floorball players, even though they were the first to score – 4:12 (Dēvid Osītis 2+0, Krister Orlov 1+1).
In the Premier League tournament table, “Masters Ulbroka”/LU with 53 points in 21 games keeps the second place behind “Rubenes” (61 points, 22 sp.). “Ķekava” has 28 points after 22 rounds, the sixth place and a ten-point advantage over FBK “SĀC”, which is one position lower (Irlava and “Lielvārde” also have 18 points).
In the tournament of the first league of Latvia, the season’s scoring record was broken by one goal by the floorball players of “Ķekavas Bulldogs”, who defeated Bauska BJSS students 20:4 on the road, although in the middle of the second third they were still in the lead with only 8:4 (5+2 for Markus Prodnieks, 5+2 for Martin Brazovskis, 2+4 for Kristaps Login).
“Masters Ulbroka” first league team played two games during the holidays. The convincing 10:4 victory in the home game against the sports club “Slampe”/”Zevid” (Kārlis Felš 3+2, Kristaps Piebalgs and Gustavs Alviķis 1+1 each) was followed on Sunday by a 2:7 defeat in Liepāja against “Kursi”, who have become the leaders of the Western group.
Ulbrokiesi are in the third place in the table (29 p. 15 sp.), while “Ķekava Bulldogs”, floorball club “Baloži” (both 25 p.) and FK “Saulkalne/Salaspils” (24 p.) occupy the sixth to eighth places.
In the tournament of the second league of Latvia, both Pieriga clubs were victorious. “Coyote”/”IxCom”/FBKV of Inchukalna won the third period 7:3 and the whole game 12:8 at home against the “Saldus Florbols” team (Kalvi Kliest 5+2, Robert Rusiņas 3+1, Jānis Levanović 1+5). Savuart FK “Ulbroka” was a guest against floorball club “Tērvete” and increased its advantage throughout the match and won 13:6 (Artis Krastiņš 3+5, Richard Korn 3+1, Viesturs Matjukevičs and Viktor Vansović 2+1 each).
In the table of the Western group, “Ulbrook” is in third place (32 p. 15 sp.), but “coyotes” are still in the last eighth (12 p. 15 sp.).
In the Women’s Premier League, “FK Ķekava”/”Latvijas Mediji” floorball players experienced a heavy loss 3:11 against the leader Kocēnas “Rubeni” (Annija Dartas Dankfeldi 1+1), but the “NND/RJTC” team beat Cēsa “Lekringa” 8:4 in Ulbrok (Loreta Nemiro 4+1, Marta Rekei 1+4). In the table, “NND/RJTC” is in the third place (24 p. 10 sp.), and Čekavietes is in the fifth place (10 p. 11 sp.).
It was just a little short of a big surprise in the women’s first league game, in which the so far undefeated “Ķekava Bulldogs” floorball players met the so far undefeated Babīte sports club team. In the middle of the second third, Babita’s floorball players were in the lead 7:3, however, 52 seconds before the end of the regular time, the “bulldozes” saved themselves from losing and scored the winning goal in overtime with a numerical minority – 9:8 (for the winners, Agnes Broliša 2+3, Kristiana Dombrovska 2+1, Ieva Mazvēršita 2+0; for the losers, Keita Švedere 2+2, Ieva Bushman 2+1).
“Ķekava Bulldogs” has six wins in six games (17 points), while Babīte has seven losses in seven matches (2 points).
