Farma Crocetta Baseball announces the hiring of Frank Ernesto Herrera, Cuban pitcher born in 1992, who will join Eriel Carrillo on the first team roster.
Herrera, born in Havana on 18 October 1992, has already played in Italy in 2024 with Fortitudo Bologna and boasts an important career in Cuban baseball with the Industriales shirt, one of the most prestigious teams in South America and the world.
The hiring of Herrera represents a double opportunity for Crocetta: the Cuban will not limit himself to strengthening the pitching mound in the match open to non-EU pitchers, but will also have a central role in the development of the youth sector.
The choice to also entrust Herrera with training tasks confirms the identity of the blue and white club: “We want to grow, continuing to be recognized as the home of youth baseball in Italy”, underlined sporting director Cristian Ronchini. “A place where boys learn not only to throw and hit a ball, but can become men thanks to this wonderful sport.”
With the arrival of Herrera, who will join Carrillo by providing experience and quality to the young group coached by Michele Gerali, Farma Crocetta completes the foreign pitchers department and is preparing to face the challenge of the Serie A Gold championship with greater awareness.
