How was the game?

First half

Santos started the match by putting pressure on Cruzeiro from the first minutes. However, the team from Minas Gerais balanced their actions and started to create chances, but ran into the Santos defense. Thus, both teams accumulated opportunities throughout the first half.

One of Santos’ main chances came in the 39th minute, when Pedro Assis failed to take advantage of JP Chermont’s cross, and the ball went very close to the post.

Second half

In the second stage, in the first minute, Rayan opened the scoring for Cruzeiro. The attacker scored and then finished strongly into the back of the net. In the 13th minute, in a counterattack, captain Fernando arrived with a cart after Rayan’s cross and increased the advantage.

Three minutes later, Santos almost pulled one back, but Pedro Assis’ shot stopped at goalkeeper Victor. The Santos goal only came in the 38th minute, when João Alencar rose higher and headed in after a set piece.

In stoppage time, in the 58th minute, Pietro closed the scoring for Cruzeiro. The number 17 took advantage of the surplus inside the area and sent the ball into the back of the net, confirming the celestial classification.
