Club Brugge is once again looking towards South America to strengthen its defense. Blauw-Zwart is linked to Iago Teodoro da Silva Nogueira, a young but experienced central defender of Flamengo U20. The twenty-year-old Brazilian is considered a permanent fixture and captain at his club and has already built up an impressive record despite his age.
Club Brugge’s interest does not seem coincidental. In Bruges, a possible winter departure of Joel Ordóñez is being taken into account, who has become one of the strongholds in the defense. Although Liverpool is not going through with a transfer for the time being, Ordóñez remains on the radar of several foreign clubs. Blauw-Zwart clearly wants to cover itself.
Iago Teodoro da Silva Nogueira is 1m89 tall, right-footed and is known for his physical presence in matches. In addition, he is also offensively dangerous during stationary phases. He has already worn the captain’s armband at Flamengo U20 several times and has won almost everything there is to win in South America.
However, Club Brugge is not alone. According to transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, Brentford and Everton are also interested in the Brazilian defender. So far, only one official offer has come from his own country, but international interest in Iago seems to be increasing rapidly.
