Yesterday, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the first shot in our battle to rebuild our home was fired: carpet installation.
Rebuilding Home Project Manager Jason sent us photos of carpet samples last Friday (January 2), with 4 colors for us to decide on.
Brother Jason: “Brother Ali, which color would you prefer?”
Answer: “I’ll ask my wife and son (I’ll ask Mrs. Ali and little Ali first).”
Brother Jason: “Perhaps hay field (left top) or wheat (left bottom).”
We all think the hay field on the upper left is the best among the 4 colors, but little Alisao likes brighter and modern colors. “I would ask if they have white or light gray (not pure white).”
杰森哥：“hay field is the lighest warm color I would suggest. Any lighter color would make ‘everything show’, and not good. Gray is cold color. Any type of gray will have a cold feeling. Young people like light gray, but not good for you (not young any more).”
Seriously, indeed!
Our previous landlord, an old lady, had strange tastes and the walls in the living room and other areas were dark and depressing. The roof of the master bedroom bathroom was actually black. Therefore, new carpets and floors must be warm and cozy.
After choosing the carpet, Jason’s team started installing the carpet yesterday.
We went to see it at noon and found that the carpets in the three bedrooms were almost installed.

Then we went to pick up Ali III from school. Their school ends very early every Wednesday, at 1:15 pm.
After picking up Sansei, we will go back to our hotel first. Eat snacks, fruits, and watch TV (you tube kids’ programs).
Then took Ali III to a football training center in Walnut Creek.

Meet little Ali at the training center. After class, he took Sanshi to pick up the little princess. We went back to the hotel.
Football training takes place once a week, on Wednesday afternoons. We’ll take him there next Wednesday
