With an investment close to 12 million pesos, the new “Sebastián García Flores” Archery Sports Field was delivered and inaugurated, a work that consolidates Monclova as one of the main archery references at the state and national level, by strengthening the sports infrastructure and opening new opportunities for girls, boys and young people.

The event was led by Mayor Carlos Villarreal Pérez, accompanied by Gabriel Ramos, president of World Archery México; Antonio Cepeda Licón, director of the State Sports Institute of Coahuila; as well as sports authorities, coaches and athletes, with whom the second edition of the “Dafne Quintero” Archery Open was also officially launched.

During the event, the mayor highlighted that this investment is part of a joint strategy with Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas to promote sports as a tool for comprehensive development, highlighting that Monclova is committed to local talent and sports discipline as a way to generate growth, opportunities and international projection.

In his message, Gabriel Ramos, president of World Archery México, expressed his satisfaction at returning to Monclova and recognized that this is the second archery school that has been consolidated under this collaboration model, highlighting that athletes such as Dafne Quintero and Sebastián García have placed Mexican archery on the international map and must be an example for new generations.

He stressed that the creation of this field and the archery school will allow girls and young people to access different opportunities, such as national and international competitions, selection processes and high-performance training, emphasizing that Coahuila is today one of the most important bastions of archery in the country.

For his part, Antonio Cepeda Licón recognized the vision of the municipal and state government to complete this work in just one year, highlighting that the infrastructure will allow hosting high-level events and continue strengthening Coahuila athletes, while endorsing the support of the State Sports Institute to continue promoting the growth of archery and sports in general in Monclova.
