“Mr. Tsuji, were you bullied when you were a child? Or were you a bully? How are you doing now? I was curious because bullying was a theme in several works such as Pianissimo and Strait light.Recently, violence and bullying among junior high school students has become a problem in Japan.Actually, I was also bullied. Even now, I am in a somewhat arduous environment to live in.Please give me some advice on how to avoid being bullied.”
I will respond.

“I was a bullied child.I was a transfer student, so I was bullied first at the new school. Also, even now, as an adult, I was bullied quiet a lot by the older generation. There was a strong generation called the baby boomer generation,Honestly, you got hit. That’s why you get hit because you stand out. nails that stick out too much get hammered, but nails that don’t stick out will never be hammered, but they won’t do what you want them to do.

When I was in the 6th grade of elementary school, I transferred from Fukuoka to Obihiro, Hokkaido. Well, I was already in the 6th grade, so I managed to get through it, but when I was in the 1st year of middle school, my classmate, Hachiya-kun, hit me quite a bit. While laughing. He was a tall guy with a short temper. Also, I was assaulted by a group of people from the soccer club. That was an amazing day. I’ll never forget it. I was called to the middle of the field and beaten up by about a dozen people. Also, there was an ice hockey class in Obihiro, and as he was a boy from Fukuoka, he couldn’t skate, so he took advantage of that, calling it an attack, and repeatedly ramming his body into his body. At cram school, guys from other schools asked me to wrestle with them,so I got beaten up and almost pushed off the roof of a building. Seriously. why? that’s right. I am, and still am, a cocky person and tend to say a lot. It would be fine if I said what I wanted to say, so people noticed me, and if I looked strong, that would be fine, but I was short and didn’t have any muscles, so I was attacked.

So, in my third year of junior high school, I transferred to hakodate. I had long hair, so I got hit there again. Then, when you reach high school, you think, Wow, this is a bad way to continue living, right? That’s why I started judo. Every day, he runs barefoot after school to Gokoku Shrine with his classmate Nakamura, and his seniors train him in the world of judo. Her long hair was cut into squares, and she had what you might call a yankee hairstyle. After that,I stopped being bullied. lol. I went to school wearing bontan shoes and carrying my judo uniform, but to be honest, I felt weak. However, the good thing about judo is that I have learned to understand pain. I also see violent scenes of Japanese junior high school students in movies such as X, and the way they hit them is no good, it’s the violence of people who don’t know pain, it’s dangerous, and it’s despicable.I practiced judo seriously when I was in high school, and when I moved to Tokyo, I started playing in bands around Kabukicho and Shibuya, and even when I got into fights, I didn’t lose. Onc, our bassist iguro-kun got into a fight with a gang of half-gray guys who had made kabukicho their territory, and we got into a fight. Iguro-kun was having a tough time with his opponent, who was already huge, rugged, and strong-looking,so I jumped in and defeated the big guy with a ground attack to break up the fight. Do you remember Iguro? He said, “Remember, I’ll come back for revenge,” and then he disappeared, but I was still working part-time, but there was no revenge. It was great. when I was in the judo club, I weighed 70 kg. It was good to get stronger, but my goal was to be a good man, so from there I got into the world of music, and I’ve always been 55kg. I can’t mediate fights anymore, and lately, because I’m old,I can’t even argue anymore, and I’ve become a weak man again.

So, in response to your question, I’m not saying that you just need to become stronger. When I was in junior high school, I was in a lot of trouble, so when I decided that I was done with it, I started martial arts and it was a good way to escape. I have never been hit since I started doing judo. I know the pain, so I won’t start a fight. however, I don’t think that is the essential solution. I was bullied because I was cocky and reckless. But I stuck with it and am who I am today. You probably haven’t had the experience of being beaten up, right? I have one. I once almost got hung upside down from the window of a building. This happened when I was in the 6th grade of elementary school, and Ozawa-kun in the living room Ozawa resolutely protested against the bully, even though he was an adult, and somehow managed to avoid death. Ozawa-kun, do you remember? At the table tennis court…

Nowadays, I’m an old selfie guy, but when you go out into society, strength isn’t the key. Rather, underlying strength is more important. If you have inner strength, you won’t lose. It’s true. First of all, it is important not to get discouraged in life. It’s okay for humans to lose. But it’s no good to get discouraged by life. If you fall down, just get up. It’s no good if you can’t get up. There is no real victory if you fight with strength alone. When you move forward with your inner strength and think, “What the hell?”, of course, each person has their own way, and at that time, it is indeed critically important to see whether or not you can win in life.In fact, I am grateful that I was able to create Pianissimo and the light of the straits because of the fact that I was bullied.Because I was able to understand people’s pain, I was able to move on in the world. I don’t know if it was very helpful, but by training my body and learning the spirit of martial arts, I was able to discover the gateway to the inner strength that allows me to not lose. Laying around won’t solve the problem. From there, you can only train your mind and move forward without making compromises. When I grew up, I was bullied by my seniors, but most of the time it was backbiting or name-calling, and they were just people I couldn’t deal with.It may have been my experience in martial arts that made me realize that I was no longer someone to deal with. If you feel that you are being bullied in a small world, please change your environment immediately. May I? There are over 8 billion people in the world, and the earth is infinitely large. If you’re having trouble breathing there, move. There is always a world that will accept you. But first, would you like to train your body? It will also tighten your heart.”
