Bov IF Badminton excelled at this weekend’s national youth badminton championships, which were held in Højbjerg near Aarhus.
The club had six youth players with them to the championships, and they returned home with one gold medal and three silver medals in their luggage.
14-year-old Magnus Poulsen delivered a strong performance and could be hailed as national champion in men’s singles.
15-year-old Clara Nøiers Hesse also had a particularly successful weekend, where she won three second places. She secured silver medals in both mixed doubles, women’s doubles and women’s singles.
At the national championships, the country’s best youth players competed in the age groups U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18.
On Sunday, two proud youth coaches, Stella and Bitten Aagesen, could return home with great results, which testify to a high level in the club.
Bov IF Badminton has a strong youth department with around 30 players between the ages of 9 and 19, and this weekend’s medals underline the solid work that is put into talent development at the club every day. ■
