On the eve of a new year, one of the most traditional clubs in La Plata experienced a special day with the visit of a player from the Argentine National Team, which generated a true revolution among boys, girls and leaders of the institution.
The experience was shared by the club itself on its social networks, where they highlighted the value of the meeting: “Sharing a time with someone who came out of Argentine football is a huge source of pride and an inspiration for all the boys and girls of the club. Thank you for the humility, the time and the message. These meetings leave their mark.”
The protagonist was Juan Manuel “el Flaco” López, Palmeiras forward, who approached the Asociación Iris club, located in the San Carlos neighborhood of La Plata, and shared a pleasant moment with those present. The visit took place before the end of the year and surprised the entire local sports community.
López, who was recently called up by Lionel Scaloni for the last double date of the South American Qualifiers towards the 2026 World Cup, maintains a strong link with regional football. It is worth remembering that he took his first steps in San Lorenzo de Villa Castells, within the Platense Amateur League, before establishing himself as a figure in Lanús and making the leap to Brazilian football.
The presence of the striker not only left photos and anecdotes, but also an inspiring message for the young footballers of the club, who lived up close the experience of a player who emerged from amateur football who managed to reach the elite.
