Ibaraki Robots to Host Kids and Family Day Featuring Tomica and Working Vehicles on Dec 12-13

Ibaraki Robots will host the Kawasaki Brave Thunders at Adastria Mito Arena for a family-focused weekend featuring interactive booths, emergency vehicle displays, and on-court youth experiences, the club announced.

Adastria Mito Arena Hosts Weekend Family Event

The two-game series tips off on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, at 15:05 local time, followed by a Sunday afternoon match on Dec. 13, 2026, at the same time. Both fixtures against the Kawasaki Brave Thunders form the core of the club’s “Kids & Family Day” initiative.

Activities span both days through a partnership with the B.League family project “Infronia B.Hi TOUCH.” The league-backed program aims to introduce first-time young spectators to the arena environment through tactile exhibits and entertainment.

Tomica Games and Lego Play Areas

Elementary school students and younger children attending the Saturday and Sunday fixtures can access dedicated play zones starting at 12:30 when early admission begins. A Tomica target game on the second floor challenges participants to roll miniature vehicles into specific stopping zones, with original stickers awarded to the first 50 successful children accompanied by a guardian.

A collaborative merchandise line featuring Tomica and Licca items, including umbrella markers and handkerchiefs, will be sold at the second-floor goods shop while supplies last. Meanwhile, the first floor hosts a Lego block building booth supported by Legoland Discovery Center Tokyo, where children aged four and older can assemble creations to take home.

On-Court Access and Youth Reporter Roles

The Ibaraki Robots organized several pre- and post-game participatory programs for children. Before tip-off, participants can join the “Robosuke Challenge” involving a kendama game with the team mascot, or work as operational assistants during the opening show’s player introduction sequence.

Post-game activities feature young presenters handing out commemorative panels to the recipients of the On Fire award, alongside junior interviewers questioning the game’s standout players. On Saturday, Dec. 12, children of elementary school age or younger can enter the court surface without advance registration approximately 30 minutes after the final buzzer for a 15-minute open-play session, provided they wear indoor shoes and bring their own basketballs.

Emergency Vehicles on Display with Roblox Booth

Sunday’s schedule introduces outdoor and digital attractions on the arena grounds. An outdoor special space in the plaza will display working vehicles, including a police patrol car, a police motorcycle, and a fire engine. Access to the vehicle display requires a random drawing held between 11:30 and 12:30 at the outdoor booth.

Inside the venue, an indoor exhibition booth on Sunday will showcase the official Ibaraki Robots game hosted on the gaming platform Roblox. Club officials encouraged families and first-time attendees to experience both the basketball competition and the supporting entertainment throughout the two-day event.
