The 2025-26 Jr. NBA Campus Basketball League@Sichuan men’s finals concluded successfully. The Yibin No. 1 Middle School boys’ basketball team performed strongly in two rounds of fierce battles and cooperated tacitly. Finally, it defeated the Mianyang Middle School boys’ basketball team with a total score of 156:146 (77:78 in the first round and 79:68 in the second round) and won the championship trophy with a 10-point margin of victory! This is the third time that the Yibin No. 1 Middle School men’s basketball team has won the Jr. NBA Champions Cup after the 2018 season and the 2022-23 season.
The home-and-away finals made the two-round matches lively, and the opening performances were equally exciting, quickly igniting the heated atmosphere at the scene. The midfield skills challenge and inter-section interactions allowed the audience to immerse themselves in the charm of Sichuan campus basketball. Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the event, a Jr. NBA 10th anniversary tribute event was held at the home court of Yibin No. 1 Middle School in the second round of the final. Coach Cheng Qiang, Coach Jia Li and others received 10th anniversary commemorative T-shirts as a thank you for their hard work and testimony to campus basketball over the years.

First leg: Lost by one point away from home
On December 26, Yibin No. 1 Middle School lost to Mianyang Middle School 77:78 in an away game. In the first half, Yibin No. 1 center Luo Jinzhou and Wang Chengwei broke through the paint and succeeded. Wang Zihan made a three-pointer and scored 19 points in the half, helping the team take a 44-32 lead. In the second half, Mianyang Middle School Du Shengteng hit two three-pointers to sound the counterattack horn, and the two sides drew many times. In the last minute of the final quarter, Yibin No. 1 Middle School Li Shangda hit a three-pointer. Mianyang Middle School Li Yikun received an assist from Tang Zuyan and scored a go-ahead point at the basket. In the end, Yibin No. 1 Middle School lost by one point.

Second round: Reversal at home to win the championship
Returning to the home court on December 29, Yibin No. 1 Middle School came out with full firepower and defeated Mianyang Middle School 79:68. They completed the reversal from the lead in the total score and won the championship trophy.
At the beginning of the game, Wang Chengwei of Yibin No. 1 Middle School made a breakthrough. Mianyang Middle School Tang Zuyan responded from the basket and tied the score one for one. The two sides were evenly matched and the score was stalemate. In the second quarter, Yibin No. 1 Middle School Luo Jinzhou hit a difficult jumper from the basket, and then scored a tough 2+1 to continue the team’s firepower. Mianyang Middle School also showed no mercy. The “inside twin towers” composed of Tang Zuyan and Li Yikun made great offensive and defensive achievements and clenched the score. Yibin No. 1 center Wang Zihan scored a three-pointer to help the team lead by 2 points at halftime.
In the second half, Yibin No. 1 Middle School took the lead. Luo Jinzhou and Wang Chengwei continuously broke through the inside to cause damage. Zhang Chenning scored 4 points in a row to help the team hit a 9-3 offensive climax and take the lead. Mianyang Middle School Tang Zuyan scored a one-stop layup to stop the team’s bleeding, and then used internal passes and internal coordination to create damage under the basket, quickly narrowing the point difference. Wang Chengwei of Yibin No. 1 Middle School scored 6 points in a row, and Luo Jinzhou stole the ball and led the team to widen the point difference to double digits. In the final quarter, Yibin No. 1 Middle School took over the game. Wang Chengwei and Luo Jinzhou scored 44 points. Yibin No. 1 Middle School reversed the total score and won by 10 points.

Yibin No. 1 Middle School returned to the championship after two years. No. 10 Luo Jinzhou of Yibin No. 1 Middle School won the MOP title with a brilliant performance of 40 points in two rounds of the final, and coach Jia Li won the best coach. The Sichuan finals demonstrated the passion and potential of campus basketball. The Jr. NBA stage will continue to witness the growth and passion of young players.
