Series began in his rookie season
In an exclusive circle with Ewing and Mutombo: Wemby makes history
Victor Wembanyama is putting another exclamation mark on his young NBA career. In the Spurs’ clear win in Atlanta, the center reached a milestone that only two legends have achieved before him.

San Antonio celebrated a clear away win at the Atlanta Hawks, but once again the focus was on Victor Wembanyama. The Frenchman recorded his 100th consecutive regular season game with at least one block and thus joined an exclusive circle. Wembanyama had 26 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, including a spectacular attempt on Dyson Daniels that he nailed to the backboard in the third quarter.
The series dates back to Wembanyama’s rookie season. His last main round game without a block was on January 10, 2024 against the Detroit Pistons. Before him, only Patrick Ewing (145 games) and Dikembe Mutombo (116 games) had such a long block series. Mutombo ranks second in NBA history with 3,289 total blocks – behind Hakeem Olajuwon.
Wembanyam already has 51 blocks this season, although he has missed twelve games due to a calf injury. Since his return in mid-December, the 21-year-old has once again been the defensive anchor for Spurs, who have now clinched their 20th win of the season – significantly earlier than last year.
NBA: Spurs’ next games
Next up for San Antonio is the Washington Wizards on the road before heading back to Texas for a reunion with Oklahoma City.
