James signed a short-term contract worth $8 million over two years, featuring a player option for the second season. Analysts have noted the deal as one of the best-value contracts across the league given James’s continued production on the floor.
Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers throughout the 2025–26 NBA campaign, the seasoned 41-year-old put up per-game averages of 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks. As a 22-time All-Star entering his 24th professional season, James brings an established resume that includes four NBA championships.
