There are five games in the world’s best hockey league that SVT will broadcast, starting on January 10.
Pleasing, thinks Tampa Bay Lightnings and Tre Kronor’s back star Victor Hedman.
– Absolutely. It is among the best available, I think. The fact that it is on prime time at home in Sweden is extremely fun, then you know that family and friends are watching, he tells SVT Sport.
Highlighting players to keep an eye on
Among the matches that SVT broadcasts are Boston Bruins-New York Rangers. Then Hedman thinks that you should keep an extra eye on, among others, David Pastrnak in Boston.
– He has a little Swedish connection after he played in Södertälje. He is, after all, a world player and extremely tough to face as a defender. In Rangers, it is probably Mika (Zibanejad) and (Artemi) Panarin that I want to highlight.
Other Swedes who will appear in the matches include William Nylander, Lucas Raymond, Adrian Kempe, Filip Forsberg and Gabriel Landeskog.
Remember back to the final losses
In addition to the approaching ice hockey at the Olympics in Milan and Cortina, the ever so popular JVM tournament is taking place. As Victor Hedman himself played in 2008 and 2009, where there were final losses against Canada both years.
– There are great memories apart from the last match in both championships. It feels like it was the time when the JVM started to become very big at home in Sweden, so it was fun that we did such a good tournament but then unfortunately fell.
Are you following JVM now?
– As best as you can. Now that I’m injured, it’s a little easier to follow. I have seen both so far.

Looking forward to his first career Olympics
He also says that the rehabilitation is going well and that there should be no danger of being ready for the Olympics.
On Friday, Sam Hallam will take Tre Kronor’s squad to the Olympics in Milan/Cortina and Victor Hedman is excited about the first Olympics of his career.
– I am extremely motivated. I think all Swedes are, it’s bigger than ourselves. To be able to go to an Olympics and represent our country, we want to make everyone at home and those on site very proud.
