Ventspils Volleyball Championship: Stage 1 Results

On Sunday, December 21, in the “Pärventa” sports hall, the first stage games of the Ventspils city championship in classic volleyball for men were played. Five teams participate in the championship – ZS “Vālodzes”, Ventspils technical school, “Kurekss”, “KaroWood” and SK Pope/Ventspils region.

In the first stage, the teams played a one-round tournament, playing each other. After the matches played, “KaroWood” took first place in the tournament table with seven points, ZS “Vālodzes” took second place with six points, SK Pope/Ventspils district took third place with four points, and “Kurekss” finished in fourth place with two points. The Ventspils technical school team remained in fifth place.

Therefore, the four best teams qualified for the finals – “KaroWood”, ZS “Vālodzes”, SK Pope/Ventspils district and “Kurekss”.

The decisive finals will take place on December 27 in the “Pārventa” sports hall, starting at 10.00 The following will meet in the semi-finals:

  • ZS “Vālodze” – SK Pope/Ventspils district
  • “KaroWood” – “Kurekss”

The games are played according to the official rules of the FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball).

The Ventspils city volleyball championship is organized to popularize amateur volleyball in Ventspils, increase sportsmanship and physical fitness, promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as determine the Ventspils city champions in classical volleyball.

The competition is organized by the volleyball club “Ventspils” with the support of the municipality of Ventspils.

Spectators are welcome to support their teams in the finals!
