Galatasaray defeats host Zaragoza to set up all-Turkish EuroLeague Women final
Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring secured a 63-56 victory over Casademont Zaragoza in the EuroLeague Women semifinals on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Zaragoza’s Principe Felipe arena, advancing to face Istanbul rivals Fenerbahçe in Sunday’s final.
The Turkish side dominated early, building a 27-point lead after a dominant first quarter that saw Zaragoza score just two points on 2-of-17 shooting. Galatasaray’s suffocating defense held the hosts scoreless for nearly four minutes to open the game, setting the tone for a commanding performance.
Marine Johannes sparked Galatasaray’s offense with four three-pointers and 16 points, while Elizabeth Williams contributed 12 points and eight rebounds. The visitors shot 58 percent from two-point range compared to Zaragoza’s 35 percent, and converted 20 points off turnovers.
Zaragoza mounted a late rally, cutting the deficit to six points with time remaining, but could not complete the comeback as Galatasaray held firm to advance to their second EuroLeague Women final.
The victory sets up an all-Turkish final between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, with the Istanbul derby scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
Galatasaray will look to capitalize on their strong defensive performance and efficient shooting as they aim for the championship against their city rivals.
