Which professional footballer has played the most committed minutes worldwide in 2025? There is a good chance that the answer at the end of the year will be Hans Vanaken. For the time being, the Club Brugge midfielder only has to tolerate Junior Alonso from Atlético Mineiro.
Databureau CIES keeps track of all professional football players worldwide of how many matches and minutes they played in 2025. Junior Alonso is currently number one with 6,036 playing minutes. With 6,015 playing minutes, Hans Vanaken is number two on the list of professionals with the most playing minutes in 2025.
Junior Alonso played in 70 games this season, but will not play again this year. Vanaken has 71 matches and can play two more competition matches with Club Brugge before January 1, 2026. Blauw-Zwart will face KAA Gent at home on Sunday. KRC Genk – Club Brugge is still on the program on Friday, December 26.
In the top ten of players with the most playing minutes in 2025 we find two more Vanaken teammates. These are Brandon Mechele (66 games and 5,792 minutes) and Christos Tzolis (69 games and 5,702 minutes).
