PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS
PNC Championship 2/2. Annika Sörenstam, 55, and son Will McGee, 14, got off to a strong start in the two-generation competition when they shot a first-round 61, eleven under par, on Saturday.
In the PNC Championship, former major or Players champions participate along with a relative. It was the fourth start for Sörenstam/McGee, but after the fine opening round it was more difficult on Sunday. With 67 strokes, mother and son finished a total of 16 under par and in 18th place out of 20 teams.
The winners were Team Kuchar with father Matt Kuchar and son Cameron Kuchar, 18. They won with a total of 33 under par after 57 strokes on Saturday and a sensational 54 strokes on Sunday.
DP WORLD TOUR
AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 4/4. The first game block, Opening Swing, is finished and the overall winner was the South African Jayden Schaper, who thus took his second straight victory. The decision came in a playoff where Shcaper sank his third shot off the green for eagle on the first playoff hole.
Ten Swedes came to the start. Jens Dantorp broke the competition for personal reasons. Best placed was Tobias Jonsson in 18th place, a total of ten under par – his best result after four out of five competitions played this season. Jonsson is now 60th at the Race to Dubai.
Second best was Hugo Townsend, one stroke behind Jonsson in 19th place. Townsend is the best Swede at the Race to Dubai, where he is 36th.
Niklas Lemke and Joakim Lagergren shared 32nd place. Mikael Lindberg finished tied for 44th and Marcus Kinhult tied for 58th. Albin Bergström, Adam Blommé and Björn Åkesson missed the qualification limit.
LIGHT QUALIFYING
Lalla Aicha Q School Final Stage 4/4. Corinne Vidén was one stroke from full status on the Ladies European Tour 2026. She finished at nine under par and tied for 21st but is still expected to make a number of starts next season.
Louise Rydqvist, tied for 36th, and Ingrid Lindblad, tied for 45th, both played to a certain status and thus become members of the Ladies European Tour – a requirement to be able to play the Solheim Cup. They can now qualify for the team via European ranking, world ranking or through a captain’s choice by Anna Nordqvist.
