Immediately, Sapoušek did not adjust his sights, Moravec only checked Malík and from the break Zámorský only hit the middle of the goal. The attractive match continued, Energie got under pressure thanks to two power plays, but Nick Malík was still attentive in his office. Michal Teplý was able to open the scoring in the fifth minute, Frodl was already lying on the playing field, but even in this situation the guests did not get the puck into the net. In the end, the players from the spa town were the first to rejoice, Lukošik addressed in front of the goal Jakub Minárikwho no longer gave Malík a chance to intervene. The beginning of the final 20 minutes brought cautious hockey, waiting for the first mistake from the opponent’s camp. Pilsen defender Stuart Percy, permanent catcher Frodla, was the first to threaten. Tomek, on the other hand, did not beat the masked Indian man from the angle. Lev immediately addressed the puck to Ivo Sedláček, he stretched, but his shot did not find its target. The resolution of the game finally came in the 53rd minute. Pilsen kept their opponent in the attack zone for a long time, Karlovy Vary resisted, but in the end Ville Petman got the puck into the net, who after a pass from Igor Merezhek only sent the puck past the helpless Dominik Frodl. Lukáš Strnad could have added more, but the score did not change. In the end, the home team bet everything on one card, despite huge chances, the Indians withstood the pressure of Energy. Škoda Plzeň ended 2025 with a derby win, beating Karlovy Vary 2:1.
