Dieter Hecking doesn’t mince his words. As the 61-year-old reveals in an interview with ‘RND’, the way he was dismissed as coach from VfL Bochum bothered him: “I reflected a lot, but to this day I still haven’t really understood what was ultimately decisive. Above all, I felt the dismissal was unnecessary.”says Hecking, who also said the word “disrespectful” drops.

“I would have thought that there would be more focus on continuity. We had a big personnel change in the summer and integrated a lot of young players who are now top performers”explains Hecking. The experienced trainer had to resign in mid-September and was relieved of his duties after just five match days of the current second division season.
