Schumacher: Fornaroli Better Than Stroll | F1 News

Leonardo Fornaroli won the title in F3 last year, although he did not win a race there. He also conquered F2 this year. But we won’t see him on the starting grid in F1 next year.

The only newcomer to F1 next year will be Arvid Linblad with the Racing Bulls team. Fornaroli has joined McLaren’s junior team, but the reigning world champions now have both racing seats occupied.

According to Ralf Schumacher, Fornaroli deserves a place in F1. The former F1 driver took a dig at Lance Stroll at the same time.

“Strictly speaking, it’s unacceptable anymore. If I’m honest and see how great the Formula 2 champion has been, I think he deserves to sit in a car like that a thousand times more,” Schumacher said of Aston Martin in an interview with the German Sky Sports podcast.

“I’m curious how it will develop there because – let’s be honest – even Lawrence Stroll can’t close his eyes to this topic. In my opinion (Lance Stroll) is also a candidate who should no longer be in Formula 1. There’s no doubt about that,” concluded Schumacher.
