PSV Transfer News: Attacker Departs After 4.5 Years

Tai Abed can look forward to a new employer, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad. The Israeli has been one of Jong PSV’s standout players for some time, but is not involved in the first team. The club therefore wants to think about a departure.

At 21 years old, Abed is one of the older players in the Eindhoven team, for which he played 80 games and scored 26 goals and 7 assists.

Despite his excellent performances there, there is hardly any prospect of playing time in the first team. That, coupled with the fact that Abed’s contract expires in six months, means that PSV wants to sell him.

It is possible that PSV offers Abed a contract extension, after which he can be rented out to another club. There is interest in Abed both in the Netherlands and abroad.

The attacking midfielder and winger can sign ‘anywhere’ in Israel, but prefers a breakthrough in a top European competition. Should a club come forward to take over Abed permanently, PSV will probably settle for a buyout sum of several hundred euros plus a resale percentage.

Abed, who also has Spanish nationality, played for Maccabi tel Aviv between 2014 and 2019. The left foot switched to Hapoel Tel Aviv, which let him leave for PSV in the summer of 2021.

Abed played once for the PSV main squad. Last week he was allowed to participate for 68 minutes in the Eurojackpot KNVB Cup against GVVV (3-0 win).

If Abed leaves, Jong PSV will have plenty of alternatives at its disposal. Manuel Bahaty, Amir Bouhamdi and Fabio Kluit, among others, can take his position.
