Brazilian defender and former Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva, free after terminating his contract with Fluminense, has signed up with FC Porto until the end of the season with an option for an additional year, the Portuguese club announced this Saturday, December 20. He had already worn the colors of the Dragons in 2005, but only for the reserve team before flying to Dynamo Moscow. Over the past two seasons, he played 66 times for Fluminense before ending his contract amicably. FC Porto is delighted to welcome a player who, at 41, “has won 31 trophies” including a Champions League and a Copa América. The age of the Brazilian international (113 caps) has not been a hindrance for the club, which specifies that “since 2006, Thiago Silva has played at least 34 matches each season with a peak of 54 matches (two seasons ago) when he left Chelsea for Fluminense”.
