NBA: Doncic & James – Top Performances

Superstars LeBron James and Luka Doncic have led the Los Angeles Lakers back to success in the NBA.

After his ten-point series ended, the 40-year-old James scored 29 points in the 112:108 win at the Philadelphia 76ers, while the Slovenian Doncic posted a triple-double with 31 points, 15 rebounds and eleven assists.

The duo was responsible for the Lakers’ last 14 points, ten of which came from James. First the veteran hit a three-pointer with 1:12 minutes left to take the lead 108:105, then the best scorer in NBA history added two more points. Doncic, who was at home during the last two games because his partner Anamaria Goltes was expecting their second child, hit two free throws to make it the final score. Maximilian Kleber was not used. The Californians recently lost against the Boston Celtics.

Top star Joel Embiid had a weak day for the 76ers. The American, Olympic champion with James in Paris, only hit four of his 21 shots and scored 16 points.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder remain unstoppable. The champions clinched their 15th win in a row at 131:101 at Utah Jazz – despite the loss of star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who did not play due to inflammation of his left elbow. Isaiah Hartenstein also remained out of OKC due to a strained muscle in his right calf.

Oklahoma leads the Western Conference with a record of 23-1. They are followed by the Denver Nuggets, who won 115:106 at the Charlotte Hornets and thus won their tenth away game in a row, and the Lakers, each with 17:6 victories.
