It is probably not in this race that the times will fall. With its 153 meters of positive altitude difference, the 10 km Montmartre AG2R La Mondiale promises runners a great sporting challenge from the start of the season. Saturday December 20, the organizers revealed on Instagram the complete route of this unique event, scheduled for January 18, 2026 in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The route, designed to highlight the emblematic passages of the district, will begin on Boulevard Ornano before winding through the legendary streets of Montmartre. The runners will join Boulevard Barbès, where a supply of solid foods and electrolytes will be offered at kilometer 5, that is to say halfway.
The race will then pass by the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, the real highlight of the route where a fan zone will be set up to encourage the participants. The runners will also take the legendary Rue Lepic, scene of the Olympic cycling event during the 2024 Paris Games and the last Tour de France in 2025. The loop will end with the long Rue Gaulaincourt before a final straight on Rue Ordener, arriving in front of the 18th century town hall.
A solidarity race
The starts will be given in waves between 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., allowing different profiles of runners to set off in optimal conditions. “Between dynamic sections, more intimate passages and moments of effort marked by the difference in altitude, each portion has been designed to offer an extraordinary sporting and urban experience,” specify the organizers on their website.
This first edition is intended to be accessible to everyone, from seasoned runners to beginners ready to take on the challenge. Scheduled for January, a period when the racing calendar is traditionally lighter, it aims to become one of the first major running events of the year in the capital.
Beyond the sporting dimension, the event is also committed to solidarity. The 10 km Montmartre AG2R La Mondiale is partnering with the Étendart association as part of the “Étendart Running Club” educational program, which supports 21 young people from priority areas of Paris in their discovery of running and who will participate in the race.
After hosting the cycling events of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and then the Tour de France in 2025, Montmartre is preparing to vibrate to the rhythm of a new sporting discipline. Registrations are open on the timeto.com website.
