Sandra Näslund was, like yesterday, completely superior in her quarter-final in the World Cup competition in Innichen. Nor was the semi-final a problem for the Swede.
Näslund, who came third in Saturday’s competition after a miss in the final, ended up on the far right in the final but managed to get past and then took home his fourth World Cup victory of the season.
– I was prepared to fall behind, but I got a good start and then I could focus on the race, says Näslund in Viaplay’s broadcast.
The Swede beat yesterday’s winner Marielle Berger Sabbatel, who came fourth in today’s final.
– It’s absolutely fantastic, says Viaplay’s expert Lars Lewén.
The victory is Sandra Näslund’s 43rd in the World Cup. She has now taken four out of five wins for this season.
– It has been absolutely perfect, says Näslund about the season.
Second was the German Daniela Maier and third place was won by Fanny Smith from Switzerland.
On the women’s side, Swedish Linnea Mobärg also competed, who went out in her quarter-final where she had a hard time against Marielle Berger Sabbatel.
Canadian Reece Howden took home the victory on the men’s side. Swede David Mobärg went out in the round of 16.
