MKU Table Tennis: Team Reaches Pre-Qualifier Round | Kondagaon News

Bhaskar News The table tennis men’s team of Kondagaon Shaheed Mahendra Karma University, Bastar Jagdalpur performed brilliantly and registered consecutive wins in the Eastern Zone Inter-University Table Tennis Competition and reached the quarter-finals of the All India Pre-Qualifier round.

In this team, students of Government Gundadhur Post Graduate College, Parmin Chand Nag and Anshu Tiwari are representing the university. The competition is being organized by the Department of Physical Education of Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur under the banner of Sports Federation of India from December 15 to 18, in which teams from about 40 universities of the Eastern Zone are participating. In its first match of the competition, the team of Shaheed Mahendra Karma University defeated Shaheed Nandkumar Patel University 3–0.

After this, the team registered a spectacular victory by defeating Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh by 4-1 in the second round and Sports University, Imphal by 4-1 in the third round. With these consecutive wins the team qualified for the All India Pre-Qualifier Round quarter-finals. Now the team will next face Calcutta University. This is a historic achievement for Shaheed Mahendra Karma University, Bastar Jagdalpur, as the table tennis men’s team of the university has achieved the distinction of reaching the pre-qualifier round for the first time in the East Zone.

The coach of the team is HR Yadu, Sports Officer, Government Gundadhur Post Graduate College, Kondagaon, while the team manager is Mahendra Rajak, Sports Officer, Indru Kevat Government Girls College, Kanker. On this remarkable success, Dr. Sarla Atram, Principal, Government Gundadhur Postgraduate College, Kondagaon, Director, Physical Education and Sports, Shaheed Mahendra Karma University, Bastar Jagdalpur, BL Kenwat and all the sports officials of the university congratulated and congratulated the players, team coach and team manager.
